You’ll need
- Tambola tickets1–2 per player, used up
- Pens or dabbers1 per player, reusable
- Numbers 1–90 (tokens in a bag, or an app number caller)1 set, reusable
- Small prizes (non-cash, e.g. sweets, home items)4–6 total, used up
How to play
- Each guest gets a ticket. The caller draws numbers one at a time and reads them aloud, with traditional calls if wanted.
- Players cross off any called number on their ticket.
- Players shout when they complete a pattern: early five (first five numbers), top line, middle line, bottom line, four corners, and full house.
- The caller checks the ticket against the caller sheet. A wrong claim ("bogey") means that player sits out that prize.
Who wins
A prize per pattern; the full house ends the game.
Variations
Picture tambola for kids. Theme words like "diya", "ladoo", "rakhi" instead of numbers. A "pyramid" pattern for experienced players.
Safety: No paid tickets, entry fees or cash prizes. Hosts give their own small prizes offline. The app never handles money.
In the app
Party Lineup makes as many different tickets as you need, with the caller’s board, and calls the numbers with their traditional calls. Guests can also play on their phones.
